Elbert firefighters awarded 2020 Assistance to Firefighers Grant.
We are pleased to announce that we have be awarded a 2020 Assistance to Firefighters Grant in the amount of $445,714.00. We began the application process in November of 2020. We are fortunate to have received this 95/5 grant. The money will be used to purchase new Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA’s) and affiliated equipment. This is needed to bring the Department up to current NFPA Standards.
Over the last 15 years, we have been fortunate to receive a total of more than $1.6 million through this AFG award process.
